1. Whenever I go to a cross country ski race or off road bike event, I'm
struck how many people who live in Minneapolis are into these silent sports.
2. It's too bad all these people have to do their sports outside of the
city, when there are so many potential places for both in the city. (driving
out to Burnsville to off road bike, or out to Bloomington to cross country.)

And went on to suggest developing bike and cross country trails in
Minneapolis. Yes! I agree that this would improve the city and life for it's
citizens (and visitors) in many ways. And, the bike trails are part of the
Upper River Plan for North/Northeast Minneapolis (already started in the
wonderful new North Regional Park, and with connections to some great
riverside trails on both sides of the river in Anoka County to the north and
with trails in central/south Minneapolis.) I have always thought that it
would also make sense to include some cross country ski trails along the
river.
