A little news from a caucus...state Sen. Myron Orfield of Minneapolis is not running for re-election in Minneapolis's Senate District 60. Myron cites family considerations (he & his wife have 2 small kids).
I believe this means that since Minneapolis is losing a Senate district in redistricting, Myron has volunteered to stand up in the game of incumbent musical chairs. It should make drawing the lines easier for the politicians, assuming they don't give the task over to the judges. Also, our precinct voted to thank Myron for his years of service to the people of south Minneapolis and the state.
