<<So the school board folks shifted the cycle by installed some
one-time-only three-year terms (members elected in 1998 incumbents
served three years that were up in 2001, now the 1999 class is getting
theirs in 2002).>>

We've got some confusion here...

Part of it is a confusion between election and service years.
.......So, Sharon Henry-Blythe, Ross Taylor and I were 2001-elected but
began service in 2002, as noted on the web site. We serve three-year terms.

Part of it is factual
.......those folks previously elected to our seats, elected in 1997
(service Jan. 1998-Jan. 2002), served full four-year terms.
........The first three-year cycle applied to the
Farmer-Gallmon-Johnson-Shreves cohort, elected in 1999 and serving Jan.
2000-Jan. 2003. Ours is the second and last three-year term.
......Terrell Brown is correct. The term-end notation on the web site is
mistaken, unless those creating it know something I do not...It
indicates that Sharon and I serve through 2004 and Ross through 2005. As
I understand it, all our terms end effectively with the last meeting of
2004 but officially with the first board meeting of 2005.

Elections scheduled: Nov. 2002, Nov. 2004.

Clear?
