demagoguery - impassioned appeals to the emotions and prejudices of the populace. It seems to me that demagoguery (e-mail or not) is an inherent (and unextirpative) dimension of free expression. If there is fault it lies with the Park Broad for not having to the courage to remain steadfastly rational in the face of (possibly disproportionate) public pressure. The courage to do the right thing is something that is seldom mentioned in relation to politics anymore.
