The Chief says they followed procedure, that the incident was "textbook." Therein lies the problem. Their tasers didn't phase the victim. Their commands didn't penetrate. Mentally ill persons, even if they are following their medication schedule to the letter, take meds that cease to be effective after some length of time. They need to have a different medication(s) at that point. Unfortunately, when that happens, mentally ill people are sometimes the last to understand what needs to happen. The tools they are given are woefully unequal to the task. Does anyone on this list know what other tools could work in this situation? Wizard Marks, Central
