Here are a few tips to make the list more enjoyable (or less frustrating).
1. Please read the rules at http://www.e-democracy.org/mpls This will save us both work down the road. 2. Please remember to sign your posts with first and last name, and neighborhood (or city if outside of Minneapolis, or organization if that's the connection). 3. Are you already being overwhelmed with emails? We have a digest option that bundles 12-20 at a time and then sends them out. If you can, go back to your original subscription and check the "digest" option. If not, reply to this email. 4. Why didn't my post go right through? Perhaps because you're not sending in plain text format. Our list server holds fancy formats such as MIME and HTML because they can also transmit viruses. If you can un-check MIME or HTML options when you send to the list, do that. If you don't know how, check with your most knowledgeable computer friend (I don't have time to coach this one, sorry!) 5. The address to send stuff to the list is [EMAIL PROTECTED] 6. Please, please be respectful in any disagreement. This is a very important list rule designed to keep the focus on the facts and avoid flame wars. Insulting or belittling labels are usually flash points. If you're got the goods, logic and facts usually do the trick. 7. Please don't send attachments to the list (see #4). Also, if you are forwarding a newspaper story, post the link, not the whole story. 8. Very important: this is a forum for local issues, not national or state issues that you want to comment on. The key test is that an issue must uniquely affect Minneapolis, or have an impact here greater than almost anywhere else. 9. No more than 2 posts per day. Enough for now. Thanks for subscribing and spread the word!! David Brauer List manager _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
