What's remarkable about the attorney's statement is how incredibly weak and toothless it is. "We don't believe . . . " coupled with "an act of public corruption."? Plus the idea of only "some" degree of confidence, and that the possibility is left open that the feds will disagree with Symchych's homework? Reading between the lines of attorney- speak, it does not sound good at all for CM Biernat and the City. We'll see.
Gregory Luce North Phillips (work) >As for Joe Biernat, his lawyer, former U.S. Magistrate and assistant >U.S. Attorney Jan Symchych, said, "We don't believe there's an act of >public corruption here. We've done our homework to give us some degree >of confidence with that. Whether [federal investigators] agree with us >or not remains to be seen, and that's the subject of discussion." >> >David Brauer >List manager _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
