As usual Mike Hohmann asks a good question: "Why aren't state legislators and Library Board/mgmt/Friends debating how to finance the Minnesota Planetarium and Space Discovery Center in the new downtown library, employing such innovative schemes? "
Having spent a lot of time talking to legislators about this I can say two things: a. the Minneapolis delegation has been putting a lot of thought into this. b. many outside of Minneapolis are not. However people should know that a city financing IS working on financing ideas for the library...which won't be easy...but can be done. R.T.
