http://markusfredric.tripod.com/ now has homeownership map distributions
for White, African American, and Hispanic households, a map of tenant
concentrations, and some brief closer looks at near South Minneapolis
precincts.

The public hearing tomorrow evening - 6:00 pm in the City Council
chamber - promises to be informative on many fronts, and not just about
the once-over-lightly treatment I attempted on my website with reference
to race/ethnicity
questions. There are other contexts to ponder and Minneapolis citizens
will no doubt range far afield.

There's value of participating at both the public hearings: the first
one before we Commissioners settle into negotiation and decision mode
and the second one when we report our efforts to you all and then hear
your critique after we publish our tentative ward boundary plan on April
4, seven days' prior to the final public hearing on April 11.

If I were not a member of the redistricting body but interested in the
process, I'd show up for the dialogue tomorrow evening and then plan to
see what happens at the far end in case I want to have a say in the
evaluation process.

Fred Markus, Horn Terrace, Ward Ten, Redistricting Commissioner
