Yes, sports are a part of our culture and, for that reason, I support the
use of our tax dollars to provide playing fields for children and
amateurs. I, however, object to spending tax dollars to support a
profit-making operation like the Minnesota Twins.

I see the purpose of public recreation facilities is to provide
recreational opportunities for the regular citizens; whereas, I see the
purpose of a new baseball stadium for the Twins would be to help the
bottom line of an organization whose purpose is to generate profit for its
owners.

How may for-profit arts organizations are supported by our tax dollars?
And which ones are they so I can begin lobbying to have their public
financing halted?
