Mayor Rybak to speak at
Fair Housing Month Kick-off
April 1 event to highlight housing advocacy, laws and protection

March 28, 2002 (MINNEAPOLIS) April 2002 is Fair Housing Month in the city of
Minneapolis. Mayor R.T. Rybak and others will help launch Fair Housing Month
at a kick-off event on April 1. Fair Housing Month is designed to address
residents' housing needs and ensure that access to housing is open and
available to everyone. Discussions about current challenges, a celebration
of successes and reaffirmation to the commitment to fair housing will all be
featured throughout the month . Actions from these events will continue to
provide strong and effective advocacy for those needing protection that fair
housing laws provide.

The public is invited to join the Mayor at the kick-off event. Refreshments
will be served. The Housing Services Division of the Minneapolis Department
of Heath & Family Support is sponsoring the event. For more information,
