Hi,

A number of cities have volunteer Pedestrian Advisory Councils that work
in an official capacity on pedestrian issues, and review city policies
and developments for their impact on pedestrians.

Here's the home page of Seattle's Pedestrian Advisory Council,

I think the pedestrian environment in Minneapolis could really be
improved with a similar voice to advocate for pedestrian needs.

Also, if you have cable and live in Minneapolis, watch the "Perils for
Pedestrians" program at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday nights on MTN Channel 16.
The host interviews people working on pedestrian issues all over the
country. Shows change monthly.
