In addition to excessive force against the bikers lets not forget the theft 
of their bikes by cops who refuse to give them back without proof of 
registration. There is no law requiring registration; registration only helps 
in the recovery of stolen bikes. In this case we know who the bikes were 
stolen from and who the thieves are. Many of these people  are probably 
dependent on their bikes for transportation.

As for the analogy with the falon gong - the analogy is a good one for 
environmentalists in general due to the obsessive need of the cops in this 
town to suppress and attack any mass expression of environmentalism.
