<more snip> So to answer Paul Lambie's question, I can tell you that there

I want to second Paul's post from a next-door south Minneapolis
neighborhood. As list members may remember, the Kingfield neighborhood is
fighting to get MORE affordable housing into the Good Samaritan site at 4429
Nicollet.

As some may remember, we're trying to use the zoning code (conditional use
from 24 units to 29) as a way to ensure affordability. That may not be legal
- and Neal Blanchett's arguments were well-reasoned and educational - but we
did have someone downtown comment "most neighborhoods try to use the zoning
to keep out affordable housing, but you guys are using it to get more in."

Now perhaps that remark confirms Paul Lambie's original thesis, but with
Lynnhurst's good work on the Boulevard Project and Kingfield's hard work on
Good Sam - though it will probably be unsuccessful - that's two major south
Minneapolis neighborhoods working to get more affordable housing in.
