I must say this is a different story of Chief Olson than I have heard
previously. Have I missed other reports that mention similar thoughts?
(Calling on Steve Brandt to tell what I missed in the StarTribune)

I feel this is like the Sharon Sayles Belton campaign last year. I started
out believing she was a do nothing mayor, but the later the mayoral
campaign went, the more I heard about the good things she had done. I
wondered why I had not heard of those things before. It is not like I am
intentionally disregarding positive things about certain people. After
all, I have my disagreements with my CM (Joe Biernat), but I still keep an
eye out for things I think he has done well on (Truth in Housing comes to
mind).

So, it seems like Chief Olson is concerned about racial profiling and
civil rights, but yet the thing I remember about him is his defense of
police abuses. What gives? What have I missed?
