Chris Steller wrote-- I cheered Linda Mack's biting commentary on the Children's Theater expansion design by Michael Graves. http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/2220479.html
She found it cloying, dumbed down, with an entry that would make a perfect Happy Meal box. From the picture in the paper, I agree. It reminded me of expensive children's books with hyperzany illustrations that ooze charm at the point of purchase. Gullible grown ups open their wallets, but kids know better and rarely open the covers of such books. <snip Block E comments> Chris Steller Nicollet Island-East Bank ----------------------------------------------------- I agree with both Chris and Linda. "Expensive" "hyperzany" and "ooze charm at point of purchase" also remind me of the current artistic administration over there. Disclaimer--I worked at Children's Theatre for 11 years, 1988-1999. I would hate to have to pass by that new structure every day to enter the building. It seems to be all fluff and no substance, as if to distract from what lies within.
