This indictment didn't come out of the Herron scandal. It came out of an audit and investigation the U.S. attorney's office was doing of the plumber's union. Most of the FBI agents were taken off the City corruption scandal to concentrate on our national security. Members of our MPRAC group had been meeting with the FBI over the last 3 years with regard to many other improper and/or illegal actions undertaken by not only Biernat, but also other now former city council members. There are still members of the old "inner circle" of bureaucrats downtown that might not be sleeping too well these days, as Biernat's indictment is only the tip of the iceburg.
