Hi all, I had to get away for awhile, but it's good to be back..... I live in Joe Biernat's ward, and I worked on brother Shane's campaign... with that said, what I wonder is if the indictment holds up, that means that Joe has continued on the council through the trial. This just doesn't seem to be right. I didn't trust his leadership before, and now I trust him less. so how am I being served here. We remove people from society before they have their trial, granted no one was killed, well, at least we believe at this point no one has been killed. But shouldn't he take a leave of absence? I know this is territory that is sketchy but between now and the trial I will wonder who the hell my council member is, I am pissed. And I have every right to be. This redoubles my effort with the Green Party. I do not direct this criticism at the Mayor or the other city council members. I also wonder about Joe Duffy the lawyer from chicago? who we paid to investigate corruption in city hall, I think we should get a partial refund. One hundred and fifty dollars an hour for this? Give me a break!!! We seem to forget that politics is about the public. Does Joe think this will blow over, at least Brian had the decency to resign.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Chief Olsen was fired from his last job, I do not know the context, but I would like to know....it makes me wonder. I remember the way the police acted at highway 55, the genetic scientist protest downtown, the countless critical mass rides, the community relations with minorities, I know the Mpls police, can all of this be laid at the chief's feet, maybe not but I think we could find a better chief. One that made it clear to the officers that if they break the law, they will be prosecuted. Is this to much to ask? The star tribune is fairly insulated from these concerns, how could they know, like most institutions they don't want to know, it doesn't make the problems go away. But I suppose if you beat them enough maybe they'll shut up for awhile. I want reform, I will not live in a great city and have it damaged by a few for suburbanites to drive through Mpls like it was another mall. If you think I'm angry, you should have seen me yesterday afternoon. peace AND justice, Robert Yorga St. Anthony West ward three _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
