Late last evening, I fired off a message to the forum.
I neglected to state that Vivian Mason, John Erwin and
Rochelle Berry Graves have been VERY supportive. Annie
Young has directed us to be more specific about the
goals of the Minneapolis Parks Legacy Society,
outlining what we will offer the citizens of
Minneapolis. Thanks to that advice, we have a plan
and will kicking off some exciting events during the
summer. The issue regarding leasing the Historic
Wirth Home to an outside entity is now in the hands of
the taxpaying citizens. They will let the Park Board
Commissioners know whether our hard earned tax dollars
should be supporting a recreation association that has
a total of 1500 members throughout the state, with
only 155 members from Minneapolis Parks. That means
1,445 recreational professionals who live outside of
Minneapolis, have the wonderful experience to go in
and out of OUR Historic home at their leisure. Maybe
we should all join MRPA!
