Just as I was berating the city in my mind for not having a public works open house like St. Paul does, I come across information that a week from Saturday, on May 4 at the Currie Maintenance Center (near the Farmer's Market) the city is having a public works open house.
Where else can your toddler kid or your toddler mind come across (and climb in) skads of trucks and big machines, such as (as advertised) snow plows, fire trucks, crawler backhoes, police squad cars, bobcats, work boats, street sweepers, recycling trucks, bridge snoopers and pup rollers? More info at the city's web site at www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us. I know I'll be there with a little boy who calls himself firefighter Max.
