The May 10, 2002 edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education published a ranking of top college towns by ePodunk, an "information company that focuses on American places." The ePodunk rankings grouped college towns into four categories: big, medium-sized, and small cities, and "towns." ePodunk ranked cities in these categories on the basis of 15 variables, including population changes, per-capita income, entertainment offerings, restaurants, historic sites, and public-library holdings. The top five cities in the "big cities" category were as follows:
BIG CITIES: 1. Boston-Cambridge, MA 2. Minneapolis, MN 3. Denver, CO 4. Columbus, OH 5. Seattle, WA We've spent so much time on the list lately discussing the challenges that Minneapolis faces that I thought this would be a news tidbit that would brighten everyone's day. Perhaps we are better off than we realize.... sincerely, Vince Thomas Lynnhurst _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
