After long thought and interactions and conversations with many folks in the community, I have decided to not seek the DFL endorsement for School Board.
I believe that while education has become highly politicized, partisan politics should not be played out with our students. I am committed to preserving and bettering public education. And, I am willing to work with Greens, Republicans, Libertarians, DFLers,Monkeys, Goats, and Lizards to serve our students and to build excellent schools in Minneapolis. I have not changed my committment to the DFL or to the DFL platform, but I also recognize that education is at a crisis point in our community, and it will take broad thinkers and action-takers to make real change in the schools.
