I am more concerned about the amount of animal urine
and fecal residue that is on the lawns of our parks
and schools. Whittier School and Whittier Park have
the same green space.

When we checked the statutes, it appears as if there
is an ordinance prohibiting pets from school yards.
However, because the green space is actually park
green space it is unclear to me whether it applies.

I know there were signs installed telling people to
"pick-up the doo doo". That does nothing for the
urine.
Since Whittier has limited green space, both Whittier
park and Fair Oaks park are used by people with
animals. This space is also used heavily by children.

Both parks have hills that kids love to roll down.
Guess they are rolling down hills soaked with urine
and animal fecal matter.

Any suggestions from park or school board people or
environmentalists out there on how we deal with this
problem?
