Speaking of Mary, and while we're bronzing pop culture icons, I have long
advocated an equestrian statue of Bob Dylan in Dinkytown (style: Heroic
Parochial Dada). I think there is room for it in the Hollywood Video parking
lot, near the site of the Scholar, where Dylan played. >>
I've thought that Minneapolis should make up a hundred or so plastic
Dylans to rival St. Paul's saccherine Lucys (warm and fuzzy Lucy? Pleeze). We
could see him getting thrown out of the Scholar, getting trashed at his frat,
sneering at Maury Bernstein outside McCosh's bookstore and, ultimately,
hitchhiking down the road to New York. Might have to get Hibbing in on this,
he wasn't here
too long.
