In Iowa they have a caucus system just for President. They elect delgates at the local level to go to the county convention. The Iowa caucus does not endorse local candidates. That is why they have a primary in June. I would be in favor of elimating the caucus system. I think all should run in a primary, get out and go door to door. Now that is a grassroot effort.
