Note: I am not talking about who personally attended.
I've no doubt that Brian Melendez attends, and so do
I. Plenty of local Republican candidates have attended
as well, the most recent being Shirley Carleson with
an entourage of T-shirt-clad volunteers. This is not
the point. The point is that the party organizations
themselves (DFL and R) have not been specifically
visible - only through the screen of their respective
GLBT groups, and that is now going to end.

Connie,

What part of always was not clear. Megan and Brian seemed to answer your question.  The DFL has been supportive with both physically and financially EVERY year. The DFL is represented not only by Stonewall's presence, but by party officers, party activists, party staff, candidates and elected officials.  Last year I rode with DFL state Party Chair Mike Erlandson. The Pride celebration is a mainstay on our calendar.  I believe its the Republicans that have a problem recognizing the event. Let me know when Ron Ebenstiener, Tony Sutton and Brian Sullivan get there.

Putting out a press release is fine (if it's factual). That same press release leaving the DFL office would hardly raise an eyebrow - people know we support the Pride celebration. It seems to me that the party that has had a hard time dealing with Human Rights, can make news when they send a few to this event ;-)

Jim, the Stonewall Caucus is as much a part of the  state DFL  Party structure as the Feminist, Black, Latino, Asian, American Indian, Green and Rural caucuses are.
