Barb, what meeting in Ventura Village are you talking about?
I have checked with Ray Peterson, Dean Zimmerman's office,
and others in the neighborhood who are actually engaged in
addressing crime and safety issues, and they do not know what
you refer to. Are you talking about the follow up "Summit Meeting"
we had with RT Rybak, Chief Olson, Councilpersons Lillegren
and Zimmerman, Hennepin County Attorney, Inspector Lubinski,
Metro Transit Police, and community leaders from Ventura Village
and FABA?
That meeting was a week earlier.

I am glad to hear that NRP is interested in crime and safety issues,
but usually you let the community NRP folks know when you
are holding a meeting about them so some coordination can take
place. Ray Peterson, the NRP Committee Chair, did not know
anything about such a meeting this week. Communication, while
not fixing problems in of itself, certainly makes solutions easier.
I can not imagine having a crime meeting in the Whittier Neighborhood
without communicating the fact to the neighborhood organization.
I also can not imagine holding a NRP meeting in Whittier without
contacting the Whittier NRP committee.

Please contact me if you can explain this. Off "List" if necessary.

Jim Graham,
Chair of the Ventura Village Crime&Safety Committee
