Having once been a bus traveler myself I would point out that removing
buses from the Mall would add time to the bus trips, which can be
lengthy to begin with. I assume that part of the reason the buses run
along the Mall is to quicken the travel time by relieving the congestion
from the other streets downtown.

As for the danger to pedestrians and bikes - maybe these folks can take
a little responsibility and watch where they're going?
