For those interested in attending the task force's July Meeting, it will take place the day after tomorrow. Time and location are listed at the bottom of this message. To recap, the task force is a joint group of the Lyndale and Whittier neighborhoods, is open to the public, meets monthly, and provides the opportunity for residents and interested individuals to ask questions and express opinions on the redevelopment proposal for the Nicollet-Lake intersection. In effect, this means we talk about the Sherman proposal, about the Lake Street redesign, and about the 35W access project and specifically how it affects the Nic-Lake intersection. Our primary mandate is the Nic-Lake redevelopment, also known as the K-Mart site. Each meeting focuses on one subtopic. Last month we covered the Sherman project; this month we will discuss traffic on Lake Street and from the freeway. Tom Johnson of SEH and the 35W Project Advisory Committee will be the featured speaker, ready to present a status update and to answer lots of questions. So if you have a home, job, or property close to Nic-Lake--or if you're just interested in the project--please join us on Thursday to learn more.
