I agree wholeheartedly with Ann on this one. R.T. gives an extraordinary amount of his life to being the mayor. So does the city council. Let's not begrudge our elected officials the right to enjoy their families, friends and the fair city they represents. A good balance between work and home makes them better people.
I think part of the mayors job is to be an ambassador and to market and advertise all that is good in Minneapolis. Encouraging people to tube down Minnehaha creek is one more way of doing that. While you're tubing, you can stop at Lake Nokomis and get an ice cream cone at the Dairy Queen near by, or you can capture golf balls from the creek while you are going through the Hiawatha golf course. Just watch your rear end on those reeds and make sure you get out of the creek before Minnehaha Falls.
