Craig Miller has declared the affordable-housing crisis over...this
Strib story, based on a GVA/Marquette report for Hennepin County,
indicates that while the overall vacancy rate is the highest since 1992,
the apartment-vacancy rates remain below 5 percent in very-low-rent
categories, even as they are above 5 percent for higher-rent apartments.

This may mean that the market is still quite tight for renters without
much to spend - the ones who need affordable housing the most.

One point that supports Craig: Minneapolis is not one of the Hennepin
County cities with the lowest vacancy rate (that would be Columbia
Heights, Robbinsdale and Blaine; Minneapolis's rate is unspecified in
the Strib piece).

Is the Hennepin County report online? If so, can someone send in the
link?
