Hi All! A view from across the river.
The very IDEA that Mpls would CONSIDER naming a street after a recently defeated, much maligned, former Mayor points out one of the many delightful differences between St Paul (pumpernickel) and Mpls (Wonder Bread). Can one imagine a St Paul initiative for naming a street after Norm Coleman? :-) Let alone George Latimer or Larry Cohen. Little Jimmy Scheibel is right out. Forget Byrne, Vavolous (sp), even the colorful Charlie McCarty. A councilman, Vic Tedesco, managed to score one, and I think he voted for it while still in office. OTH, there aren't many Mpls streets named after St Paul natives, so go for it, SSB. Cheers! PK Aka Paul Kuettel Far Distant Falcon Heights, Home of the St Paul Campus and the State Fair and a damned fine field of 6' high genetically experimental corn ;-( PS. If Mpls really needs to honor SSB with a street, may I suggest changing the name of Kirby Puckett Drive? _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
