On July 19, Andrea Jenkins posted the following message on this list,
promoting a Get Out the Vote Festival -- saying that Robert Lilligren was
inviting other candidates to participate in a GOTV Festival

"Minneapolis City Council Vice President Robert Lilligren Invites all
interested Polictical Candidates to participate in a Community Event
intended to motivate the residents of the 8th Ward to register to vote.
Details of the event are as follows:"

The complete message is at:

http://www.mnforum.org/pipermail/mpls/2002-July/014893.html

A few minutes later she asked that the message get recalled.

The message also included the information that Pauline Thomas was the
contact person for this festival, and the groups trying to organize it:
MADDADS, and the Community Collaborative. I had never heard of the
Community Collaborative, but here is the description of the group.

The Community Collaborative is a non-profit, empowering communities of color
politically and socioeconomically and advocates on behalf of communities of
color to ensure that they have equal access to employment opportunities in
the City of Minneapolis.

=============================
It goes without saying the Community Collaborative is looking for money:

"Sources and Uses of the Funds: We are seeking corporate and private
contributions through sponsorships, grants and in-kind goods and services.
The funds will be used to pay for general purpose and project support as
well as raffle prizes." Pauline Thomas is the contact person for this
project.

Shortly after this message was posted, Andrea Jenkins sent out a message to
the list asking that the message be recalled.

Since it's the 27th of July today, and I've heard nothing more about this
festival, I assume that it's not going on.

I guess my question is what connection does Robert Lilligren have with the
"Community Collaborative"?
