WizardMarks responded:

Johnson says he is not a lobbyist and you're the only
person with an interest in calling him a liar on that
point.

David Piehl Responds:

I don't know if or why Tom Johnson would have spoken
to Wizard about his status as a lobbyist, or what he
might have said. However, as someone pointed out
off-list, the state website DOES LIST TOM JOHNSON AS A
LOBBYIST; here is the link:

I think the fact that the county hired a lobbyist
rather than a community organizer says a great deal
about the project and the intended outcome; the fact
that the lobbyist was originally hired by the local
corporations standing to benefit the most from the
project says even more.

As to Wizards assertion that the freeway is about
jobs; isn't that the same argument that was used to
convince the small towns to accept hazardous waste
facilities? Sometimes the price is not worth the
so-called reward.

$150 million could do a whole heck of a lot more than
re-design a few ramps - for example, as one listmember
pointed out off-list, it could FUND THE NRP EIGHT
TIMES OVER! It could subsidize 2.5 Target buildings -
talk about jobs!! Critical analysis is a good thing!
