As requested, I Tom L. Johnson, the one that everyone is looking for,
officially is standing up!! Since there are a plentiful supply of us, I
will now give you a few clues as to how I can be found. But, in doing this
I feel that I must start at the beginning. I was born in Litchfield, MN and
grew up on a dairy farm in rural Meeker County. I graduated from Dassel
High School (before the consolidation with the hated Cokato in the
mid-70's). Dassel is a very small town and my senior graduating class only
tallied 49 fun-loving, but quite sheltered from the rest of the world
students. But, as you probably have already guessed, there were two Tom
Johnsons. It was not hard to distinguish between us as I was identified as
"big Tom" since I have derived from Swedish and German ancestry and a long
list of extra-large sized people. The second reason for this distinction
was that I played full back on the high school football team and became
known for my ability to run into people, which incidentally created the need
for several knee operations. I liked brown swiss cattle and even won a blue
ribbon at the State Fair when I was in 11th grade. Now, for the other Tom
Johnson, his father's name was Elden and hence because he was the oldest of
four children, Tom's middle initial was 'E' for Elden. As for size, he
really was quite small and hardly could be seen along side his father's gas
pumps while filling pick-ups, cars, tractors and combines with Petrol. He
was not an athlete, but was considered a fine student. As for me, I was an
ok student. Even though we were much different, Tom E. and I bonded well
and even were roommates for awhile at Mankato State. We always enjoyed the
confusion created within the dormitories and classrooms.

Several of us have been monitoring recent e-mails and have decided to award
a meaningful prize to the first person who can guess my middle name. The
prize will have no value, but as I said, will be meaningful.

Now, everyone has a starting point and I am waiting to see who makes the
first contact. The trail is warm, so follow it, but if you're looking for
money to follow, you might try another Tom Johnson. Additional clues will
be provided when and if necessary.

Thank you to everyone for their interest, but I'm just an average guy.
