GreenSpace Partners organizes a program called Market Gardening, which helps community gardeners get a little extra in return for the fruits of their hard labor. Community gardeners (or other city growers) can sell locally grown organic produce at the Powderhorn Farmer’s Market, at 31st Street and Chicago Avenue, every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Vegetables, herbs, and flowers can be brought to the Market on Saturdays; or you can call GreenSpace Partners to arrange a pick up. You do not need to be present at the Market the entire morning—GreenSpace Partners can sell your goods for you. Money from sales can go to the individual grower, a specific community garden, or can be donated to GreenSpace Partners to help with Market expenses. GreenSpace Partners provides tables, a canopy, and other Farmer’s Market basics.
The Powderhorn Farmer’s Market is a great community endeavor—local growers, local artists, and local musicians! It is a wonderful way to start your Saturday morning. The Powderhorn Farmer’s Market will be open through October—hope to see you there!
