I have posted before about the house next door to me and the pigeon community and squirrels that live in the attic of the house. I say community because it has expanded way beyond family. They have condoized the place. Anyway, I called inspections. She wrote up orders. The city mowed the lawn a month ago. Needs it again but that's another issue.
The house was for sale but no one would buy it. You're really just buying a shell. The house is infested. The eves are falling off. It needs a new roof. The floors are buckled. The foundation is probably sacrificed in some way from a two story tree growing out of it. He cut that down finally because it was beginning to poke my house. He was asking $130,000. That's ridiculous. So far, no sale. Now, he has someone living in there again. I am concerned about the health of these people. I heard that living in a house where pigeons have inhabited it for so long is dangerous. There is some sort of spore that gets in the ceiling and walls from the pigeon feces. I have been told it's dangerous to breath in. Is that true? The city didn't seem to have a health ordinance that applied when the house was vacant. I tried to get the problem addressed but was not successful. Is there an ordinance regarding this health issue when people are living in the house? Does anyone know? On the firework issue. I was told to write the city attorney. I did so toward mid July. Haven't heard anything yet. I will keep you posted.
