Yes! It's time to have one police department if for no other reason than to save money! Last Summer the "beat officer" assigned to the entire Loring Park neighborhood spent the bulk of his time dealing with issues in the park anyway! This year we said no. Let the Park Police do their job and free up our beat patrol to deal with the rest of the neighborhood. Why do we have to deal with two departments to deal with ONE issue? In the past each was uneasy getting into "turf" issues and the only ones who suffered were the residents. A separate police department for the parks may have made sense many years ago but not today!
