I thought our teachers were just that..teachers.
Who cares if the student came from Kalamazoo..the child is
still a 10-11 year old needing the skills to make it in this world.
Remember they will be takling care of us one day.
If we let our students/children raise themselves, what do we
have to
look forward to when they value things like "kicking it"
& "Gettin' paid"
particularly when school ain't cool.
To the point, I would argue that is what we are doing when we
choose
not to care about them and more about our own adult pettiness;
like looking
good on a report card. If one can't teach, and many
can't, they should be fired.
