The new neighbors at 310 were out in force, giving me a
better read on their criminal predilections. Despite the occasional
crack deal going down, their drug of choice seems to be Colt 45, with
MGD taking a close second. This wouldn't really bother me much-
drunken homies can be kinda entertaining from a distance... except
their motor vehicle of choice tends to be either a full size SUV or a
pre-downsizing Cadillac or at least a Caprice. And they have no
scruples about motoring about the 'hood and beyond in their
inebriated state. I could also be more tolerant of this nonsense if
they took it inside their party house- their drunken outdoor goings
on have regularly kept me up till 3 or 4 am. Meanwhile, criminal
activity seems to be slowly returning to 315 after the busts in July,
with the cooperation of the new "neighbors" in 310.
On sunday morn one of their attempts at raising a "guard" dog
escaped their "kennel" and attracted the attention of Animal Control.
One of the homies finally answered the door, and appeared to be
disavowing any ownership of the now captured canine. Said canine did
bear a distinct familiar resemblance to the remaining "kennel"
inmates. So the homies sacrificed a bit of inventory in hopes of
avoiding charges.
I'd hoped to make the Hawthorne Huddle at 7:30 this morning.
The homies knocked off a little early- 3 am, but I need more than 4
hours sleep to function. So I slept till 9 and left the Hawthorne
Huddle for the folks who get to live in quieter neighborhoods. The
homies always seem to get in at least 8 hours of sleep, not having
anything really important like jobs to wake up for. I thusly woke up
at 9 and snuck out with my stealth electric mower. My lawn was mowed
and cleanup of their litter that overflowed into my lawn was complete
before the homies even realized that their turf was being invaded.
Notable in the litter collection accompanying this morning's mowing
was a crack spoon and several "rock" sized baggies... BTW, this area
was worked pretty heavily by prostitutes before the July busts, but
I've never found even one condom. So anyone on the list who has been
patronizing Northside hookers, you'd better get tested...
Which neatly sagways back into the labor day theme. I have
come to the awareness that we law abiding working class inhabitants
of the "Criminal Containment Zones" have been drafted into service as
unarmed guards and custodians in this very minimum security open air
prison. I am tempted to apply for public employee union membership so
I can at least file a grievance for back pay, etc....
