A house fire gutted a house a block from where I live and I'm very curious, so could you give me a frame of reference, please.
I left my house at 1:30 and came home about 3 PM and the place was essentially gutted. Streets were still blocked and the fire rigs were there but many of the firefighters were already removing their jackets and sitting on the lawn of Tuttle School, across the street. I've never seen or been around a fire like that before, so I'm asking: isn't that rather quick? I've had fires in the fireplace last longer than it took that house to become charred from back porch to the front windows. At this point, portions of the roof are off, the back steps are charcoal and collapsing, most of the windows are out and window frames are charred all the way to the front of the house. Seems quick. How long would you expect it to take for a fire to produce that much damage?
