List members were curious about whether MPS had eliminated tech support for Apple/Macintosh.
Our director of Media and Technology informs me that: "No all tech support for Apple/Macintosh was not eliminated. We support both PC and Mac platforms, the software is crossplatform and/or web-based, so we standardize on both Compaq/HP and Apple. Platform is no longer an issue. We lost 5 tech support positions at the district level with budget cuts, but still have 13 techs that support all school buildings as well as 40 site-based tech positions that are paid for by school budgets." Further, we had EDS grant a major pro bono review of our use of technology as a district. They have been working with us over the past year to implement a long list of technology improvements.
