Save the date – and save your green tomatoes!
GreenSpace Partners Green Tomato Cook-off Thursday, October 17, 2002 6:30 – 8:30 pm Pillsbury House Chicago Avenue South at East 35th Street
You can participate in a variety of ways: *Save your green tomatoes before they freeze and donate them to the cook-off *Compete for cash prizes with your best green tomato recipe – First prize is $50 *Just show up, eat some great food, and celebrate the end of the community gardening season
Last year, Lurelia Freeman won the cook-off with her green tomato cake. We also had green tomato pie, curry, chutney, salsa – and of course we had fried green tomatoes. This year, we’ll add a panel of judges to select the winners.
