I work with an art director who's working on a photo shoot for a catalog. The photographer's studio is in nordeast, and is in close proximity to several prop shops and antique shops. The art director, quite the enthusiast of restoring old homes, spoke lovingly of the aisles of collectibles he found. More than aisles, actually--there was so much stuff he couldn't take it all in.
Because our company is far north of the Twin Cities, few people who work there go to Minneapolis. Finding these prop shops was an unexpected delight for my coworker. And I delighted in hearing his delight. Knowing the history of Nordeast and its Eastern European immigrant families, I can imagine the treasure trove of trendy collectibles it now houses. It's great to see that Nordeast after lo these many years is finally getting its "props."
