Here are the particulars, and it should be a wonderful event. The judges have been sworn to accept bribes equally from all contestants, so as to be fair to all. All proceeds of the graft to be donated for a good cause. So bribe early and bribe often. Oh, I can almost taste the luscious things now. I am bringing my own hot sauce and drooling at prospects as I write this.
It is good to get off of meaningless issues such as Minneapolis budget and the Twins stadium and get to an issue that is truly worth getting your teeth into. This "issue" is just easier to swallow! Save the date - and save your green tomatoes! And if you are a contestant - save your money, and may the best cook win! Jim Graham, Ventura Village GreenSpace Partners Green Tomato Cook-off Thursday, October 17, 2002 6:30 - 8:30 pm Pillsbury House Chicago Avenue South at East 35th Street You can participate in a variety of ways: *Save your green tomatoes before they freeze and donate them to the cook-off *Compete for cash prizes with your best green tomato recipe - First prize is $50 *Just show up, eat some great food, and celebrate the end of the community gardening season Last year, Lurelia Freeman won the cook-off with her green tomato cake.
