List members are urged to take what Brother James Graham had to say in an earlier post about the upcoming Green Tomato Cookoff with a grain of salt. He's one of the judges and is therefore unreliable. Nevertheless, guests at the event (and you're all invited) can be assured that:
1) Although our judges can be bought, they never stay that way for long. 2) Universal bribery guarantees a fair outcome. Contestants and guests should endeavor to bribe ALL the judges. 3) With crooked judges, no one really loses. The Cookoff will take place at Pillsbury House at 35th St. and Chicago Avenue on Thursday evening, Oct.17, from 6:30 to 8:30. Further information can be had from Corrie Zoll: (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]). Copies of the "Tomato Times" (first ed.), a low and scurrilous rag devoted to the preservation of old feuds in the neighborhood and the creation of new ones, will be available at the hospitality desk. Decorum should be checked at the door. Food fights frowned upon, except for (really good) cause. Have a wonderful time, everyone!
