A detail that's been left out of the info. about the
proposed Heart of the Beast/Antiques MN building
project is that besides housing HOTB, the building
will house at least 3 other theater groups--including
one that I'm the chair of: Galumph Interactive
Theater.

As anyone who's a patron of small theater companies
knows, rehearsal and performance space is at a premium
in the Twin Cities. The HOBT project would provide
this space for the companies that are located in the
building and give possibility for a rental space for
others as well.

In the grand scheme of how Minneapolis has spent it's
money in the recent and not so recent past, I'm
praying they'll see the light and realize that this is
great investment in south Minneapolis.

If I'm remembering correctly, several of the new,
current city council members (and our awesome Mayor)
campaigned on focusing on neighborhoods instead of big
development. This is exactly what I took those
promises to be.

Please, please, please call your councilor and the
Mayor and tell your friends to as well.

P.S. Shameless plug for Galumph!: we're doing a show
weekends through Nov. 3. It's called Seance and we're
doing it at the wonderful Hennepin History Museum.
There are tickets available for most shows--you can
get them (as well as more info.) online at www.
galumph.org. Check us out!
