I want to thank everyone who has been responding to
the request to discuss the Judicial candidates.

I would like to express an additional appreciation
that, in contrast to many races, this discussion has
been highly civil and for the most part sticking to
relevant information and making a point of clarifying
when things are fact and when they are speculation.

I can't help but wonder if this is due, in part, to
the non-partisan nature of these elections.

Greg Abbott's fairly exhaustive list of the candidates
he is choosing to support (as well as the level of
support and reasons behind it) was a wonderful
addition to the discussion. I'm not certain, but I
would imagine that it takes some courage for a
practicing lawyer to go public with which Judicial
candidates they support. Greg, I commend you.

It is my hope that those who support the candidates in
opposition to Mr. Abbott's selections will take this
opportunity to explain why they have made their
selection.

I am particularly interested in hearing more about
Judge Zimmerman. For the most part, people on both
sides of the election have agreed that Julie
Delgado-O'Niel has a great deal to offer and quite a
bit of integrity and passion for justice.

There has been some contested discussion of
Zimmerman's background and capability. I would like to
hear a bit more from those who feel that he comes up
short, but I hope it remains as civil and focused on
issues (as opposed to dirt slinging) as it has to
date.

Anyway, I truly appreciate those who have contributed
to this discussion and I am glad the list manager has
allowed this county wide issue to be addressed here.

Thank you,

- Jason Goray, Sheridan, NE.
