With somewhere around a quarter of the Hennepin County vote, Minneapolis voters may be critical in saving the Hennepin Conservation District. Does anyone know if HCD does any work within the City Minneapolis? I have heard reports of HCD doing good environmental work in the less urban sections of the county. An impressive array of organizations have come out against terminating: Sierra Club, 1000 Friends of Minnesota, Audubon Minnesota, Clean Water Action Alliance of MN, Friends of the Mississippi River, Land Stewardship Project, etc, etc.
What's the rule again on referendums? Do they only count the marked "For" and "Against" votes, or do non-marked ballots get thrown in with one side or the other? I noticed that my sample ballot at http://www.co.hennepin.mn.us had the referendum printed. However, my sample ballot at http://www.myballot.net did not print the referendum.
