[MH]  AMEN! (as Jim Berg actively solicits funds for Mondale on this list)

Subject: [Mpls] Issue-oriented political discussion?

I am greatly disappointed in Eva's post here.  I'm sure there are
plenty of intelligent issues to discuss in the County Commissioner
races without getting into this kind of mudslinging.  I've deleted
most of Eva's post because we don't need to see it yet again.

But, I guess we can't expect much better from the Republican
party, in which Eva is active.  That party ran an ad today
(which I heard on WCCO-AM) accusing Roger Moe of being soft
on crime, shortening sentences for murderers, drug dealers and
sex offenders.  That ad is completely, totally untrue.  If it WERE
true, it would be a huge issue, because as we know the city of
Minneapolis has a greater share of this type of crime than the
statewide average -- but the ad is a total lie.

The Republicans complained that one DFLer got a little carried
away at Paul's memorial service, but then they get right back
down in the gutter where they were right beforehand.

I trust that thinking people will see through all of this.
